About the Role As a Biomedical Technologist Volunteer at MBHS, you will play a crucial role in supporting patient diagnosis by providing high-quality laboratory and phlebotomy services. You will ensure adherence to quality management systems, infection control policies, and cold chain regulations, maintaining the integrity and safety of all laboratory procedures.

Your clinical proficiency will directly impact patient care and laboratory excellence. Key Responsibilities Assist patients to designated areas for blood collection, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.

Prepare and maintain all necessary phlebotomy equipment to ensure readiness for procedures. Collect, accurately label, and dispatch blood samples for laboratory analysis following strict protocols.

Maintain laboratory equipment and services to professional standards, implementing quality control measures. Deliver safe and proficient phlebotomy using sterile techniques and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ensure compliance with infection control policies and confidentiality of patient information at all times. Conduct internal and external quality control to guarantee reliable patient results.

Manage specimen preparation, storage, and disposal in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines. Monitor reagent and chemical stock levels, expiry dates, and maintain cold chain requirements.

Participate in staff training and provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Report hazards, equipment faults, and follow safety data sheet recommendations diligently.

Comply fully with national legal regulations and contribute to a safe working environment. Educational and Professional Requirements Diploma in Biomedical Sciences is mandatory.
