The Chief Mining Engineer will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for mine planning, engineering, and production activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and economically sustainable extraction of ore. Key Responsibilities for Chief Mining Engineer Jobs in Kalumbila Lead and manage all engineering aspects of mining operations, including planning, design, and execution.
Optimize mining processes with a focus on Load & Haul strategies and overall mining operation efficiency. Oversee the selection, maintenance, and management of drilling and other mining equipment.
Conduct regular field inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and environmental regulations. Develop and implement strategies for environmental permitting and effective environmental management.
Implement robust quality assurance, quality control, and analytics processes to enhance operational performance. Provide leadership and mentorship to engineering teams to foster professional growth and development.
Manage project timelines and resources effectively through strong administration and time management skills. Promote an inclusive work environment within the mining teams.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in mining engineering, preferably in large-scale open-pit or underground operations.
Expertise in mining operations, including Load & Haul and mining operation optimization. In-depth knowledge of drilling equipment and mining equipment management.
Strong understanding of environmental permitting and environmental management principles. Proficiency in QA/QC and analytics applied to mining operations.
Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability in administration and time management.
Experience conducting thorough field inspections. Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a dynamic mining environment.
