The key purpose of this role is to provide specialised Artisan skills and knowledge to the team, and to support the operations, maintenance and problem-solving activities of the teams.

Key outputs and responsibilities:

Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment

• Comply with safe, health and environmental procedures and legislation
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards

Maintain, Repair plant equipment and associated devices

• Locate plant equipment, spares and relevant documentation/ systems
• Plan and prepare the job
• Carry out repairs/maintenance
• Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process, equipment and systems

Work in Teams

• Communicate effectively in teams.
• Contribute to self and team development

Applying problem solving processes, find and eliminate the root cause

• Use the root causes analysis tools for problem solving, these include: 5 Why, Abnormality Report Report, Fishbone diagram, Pareto chart, Scarter diagram, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis

Optimizing plant performance in terms of productivity, quality, delivery, cost and safety

• Excellent machine condition and process parameters
• Continuous discipline to drive spending and cost reduction, while maximizing business values

Education

• Min- Trades Certificate
• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)

Experience

• Training: Min – 3 – 5 years in a FMCG production environment
• 1-2 Years technical mechanical and electrical experience in a FMCG environment
• Process Artisan, Maintenance artisan
