The role focuses on creating a relaxing and memorable spa experience that complements the lodge's luxury safari offering.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest TreatmentsPerform a variety of spa treatments, including:Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, and Aromatherapy MassagesFacials and skincare treatmentsBody wraps, exfoliations, and scrubsManicures and pedicuresReflexology and wellness therapies (where qualified)Conduct guest consultations and assess individual treatment needs.Recommend suitable treatments and wellness programs.Ensure guests receive personalized and professional service.Guest ExperienceDeliver a warm, friendly, and professional guest experience.Promote relaxation and wellness throughout the guest journey.Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally.Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding guest information.Spa OperationsPrepare treatment rooms before and after appointments.Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of all spa areas.Ensure all equipment, linen, and products are properly stocked and maintained.Follow lodge and spa health, safety, and hygiene protocols.Retail & Revenue GenerationPromote and sell spa products and treatments.Encourage repeat bookings and additional services.Assist with achieving treatment and retail sales targets.AdministrationManage treatment bookings and schedules.Maintain accurate guest treatment records.Monitor stock levels and report shortages.Assist with stock takes and inventory control.Additional Lodge SupportAssist with reception, guest hosting, or front-of-house duties when required.Support lodge operations during quieter spa periods.Participate in lodge events and guest activities where necessary.
Minimum Qualifications- Recognized qualification in:
- Beauty Therapy
- Somatology
- Spa Therapy
- Massage Therapy
- Certifications such as:
- ITEC
- CIDESCO
- CIBTAC
- SAAHSP Registration (advantageous)
- Valid First Aid Certificate (advantageous).
Experience Required- 2–3 years' experience as a Spa Therapist.
- Previous experience in a luxury lodge, hotel, resort, or wellness spa environment preferred.
- Experience with a wide range of massage and beauty treatments.
- Knowledge of luxury guest service standards.
