About the Sales Representative Role As a Sales Representative, you will collaborate closely with the Sales Manager to execute sales presentations, product launches, and brand activation activities.
You will be responsible for negotiating contracts, coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs, and continuously monitoring market trends and competitor activity. Your ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships will be key to ensuring long-term client satisfaction and repeat business.
Key Responsibilities Negotiate contracts and pricing schedules with prospective clients, including quotes and promotions. Prepare and submit sales contracts and manage month-end closing processes.
Deliver compelling sales presentations to a diverse range of clients. Coordinate sales activities in alignment with marketing strategies and company programs.
Visit clients to assess needs, promote products, and obtain deposits and payments. Monitor competition by gathering market intelligence on pricing, products, and trends.
Resolve customer complaints collaboratively and provide effective solutions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and trends.
Respond promptly to client inquiries regarding credit terms, product availability, and pricing. Qualifications and Experience Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales and marketing, with at least 1-2 years working in Lusaka and maintaining a strong local network. Proven sales experience within the FMCG or food manufacturing sectors.
In-depth understanding of sales processes and market dynamics. Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Membership with the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) is required. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Skills and Attributes Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and networking abilities.
Sales-driven with excellent negotiation and presentation skills. Detail-oriented and sober minded with the ability to build rapport quickly.
