Role Overview:
Service Technician – Crushing Solutions As a vital member of our Service Team, you will deliver aftermarket maintenance and technical support for Sandvik Rock Processing equipment both at our facilities and directly on customer sites.
Your hands-on expertise will ensure optimal performance of crushing equipment and aftermarket parts for customers across Zambia, primarily focusing on the Northwest and Copperbelt regions. Key Responsibilities in Service Technician Jobs in Solwezi Provide customer training and technical service support for all Sandvik crushers supplied within Zambia.
Conduct mechanical and process maintenance at mining sites, ensuring equipment reliability and safety. Identify, report, and resolve technical issues efficiently and safely.
Perform installation and commissioning of new Sandvik equipment in collaboration with customer teams. Work independently or under on-site leadership to meet operational demands.
Participate in training sessions, meetings, and respond to after-hours service calls as required. Assist customers’ maintenance teams with fault diagnosis, repairs, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with sales and customer teams to promote equipment and aftermarket parts sales. Support parts planning and provide feedback on equipment condition and performance to improve maintenance planning.
Maintain compliance with Sandvik’s health, safety, and environmental policies. Qualifications and Experience Certified Mechanical Technician, Fitter, Boilermaker, or Diesel Mechanic.
Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry. Proven expertise servicing mineral processing and fixed plant equipment, with a strong preference for crushing and screening experience.
Advanced technical skills in preventative maintenance, hydraulic repair, automation setup, fault finding, and problem-solving. Knowledge of crushing and screening operations in both surface and underground mining environments.
Additional Requirements Valid passport and willingness to travel within the Central African Territory on short notice. Possession of a driver’s license recognized in Zambia.
