About the Role:
Warranty Service Technician in Solwezi As a Warranty Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing IT devices covered under warranty to ensure they meet quality standards. You will provide technical support for warranty repairs, maintain accurate records of parts and repairs, and assist with first- and second-line IT support for office users.
The role requires adherence to approved warranty processes and collaboration with internal teams and external service providers to improve repair workflows and service quality. Key Responsibilities Diagnose hardware and software faults on laptops and tablets; perform warranty repairs according to approved procedures.
Replace faulty components within warranty scope and reimage devices after repair as needed. Maintain detailed repair records and parts usage logs; review and follow up on open warranty and helpdesk tickets.
Test repaired devices thoroughly before returning them to users or customers. Provide first- and second-line IT support for office users, including troubleshooting devices, peripherals, and network connectivity issues.
Follow warranty policies, repair procedures, and technical standards to ensure quality and safety. Collaborate with suppliers, service providers, and internal technical teams to coordinate repairs and escalate complex issues.
Analyze warranty trends and recurring faults to recommend improvements in repair processes and product quality. Manage spare parts inventory, replenishing stock as necessary and updating technical documentation.
Qualifications and Experience Certificate or Diploma in IT Hardware Repair and Maintenance, Computer Hardware, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field. Minimum of two years’ experience in IT service centres, electronic repair centres, warranty service environments, or similar technical roles.
Practical skills in diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining laptops, tablets, and related electronic/IT equipment. Experience with hardware troubleshooting, component replacement, operating system installation/reimaging, and endpoint configuration.
Familiarity with warranty repairs, ticketing systems, spare parts management, and service record keeping is advantageous. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with teams and external partners. Valid driver’s license required.
