MARKETING & SALES OFFICER

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are a growing fresh produce supply company specialising in the supply of fresh assorted vegetables and related food products to hotels, restaurants, lodges, catering companies and other institutional customers in Lusaka.

As part of our expansion strategy, we are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and target-driven Marketing & Sales Officer to join our team and drive business growth.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing new customers to the business, increasing sales and developing long-term relationships with hotels, restaurants and other potential clients.

This is a field-based sales position. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to pick up the phone, walk into a hotel, meet a Procurement Manager or Chef, present our company, follow up and close the deal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and acquire new hotels, restaurants, lodges and catering clients.
• Develop and maintain a database of potential customers.
• Conduct cold calls, WhatsApp marketing, emails and physical sales visits.
• Meet Procurement Managers, Purchasing Officers, Chefs, General Managers and business owners.
• Introduce and promote our fresh produce and food supply services.
• Prepare and follow up quotations and proposals.
• Secure trial orders and convert them into regular customers.
• Develop strong relationships with existing and new customers.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Monitor competitor prices and market trends.
• Identify new business opportunities.
• Promote the company through social media and other marketing channels.
• Collect customer feedback and assist in resolving customer concerns.
• Submit daily, weekly and monthly sales reports.
• Support the company in expanding its market share within Lusaka.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should have:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Business Development, Commerce or a related field.
• 2–5 years' experience in sales or business development.
• Proven experience in B2B sales.
• Experience selling to hotels, restaurants, lodges, catering companies, supermarkets or institutions will be a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong customer acquisition and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Good computer and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to prepare quotations and sales reports.
• Must be confident, energetic and highly self-motivated.
• Must be willing to spend significant time in the field.
• A valid driver's licence will be an advantage.
• Own vehicle will be a strong added advantage.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a sales hunter—not an order taker.

The successful candidate must be able to identify opportunities, approach new businesses, make presentations, negotiate, follow up consistently and close deals.

Someone who already has contacts within the hospitality, restaurant, catering or food-service industry will have a significant advantage.

REMUNERATION

Competitive salary + allowances + performance-based commission/incentives.

The remuneration package will be discussed with shortlisted candidates based on qualifications and experience.
