The agency also regulates permissible road weights, conducts network improvement studies, and reviews design standards to ensure sustainable and efficient road infrastructure development.
Role Overview – Senior Quantity Surveyor Reporting directly to the Principal Quantity Surveyor within the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the Corporate Services Directorate, the Senior Quantity Surveyor plays a critical role in monitoring road projects.
The position involves providing expert costing advice, preparing detailed cost estimates, conducting cost risk analyses, and ensuring cost control in line with contract conditions to guarantee value for money on all road projects undertaken by RDA.
Key Responsibilities Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates for road projects. Maintain and update the cost tracking database to monitor expenditures.
Analyze contractor claims to ensure accuracy and compliance. Monitor cost performance throughout project lifecycles.
Support cost risk analysis to identify and mitigate financial risks. Assist in reviewing certification processes related to project payments.
Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications and Experience Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Science, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years’ professional experience in quantity surveying.
Valid membership with the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors. Skills and Attributes Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a collaborative team player.
Ability to multitask effectively and work independently with minimal supervision. Proficient in cost planning and control methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Professionalism, maturity, and respectfulness in all workplace interactions.
