Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial transactions.
- Processing supplier invoices, payments and customer receipts.
- Preparing payment vouchers and journal entries.
- Performing bank reconciliations and cash reconciliations.
- Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Following up outstanding debts and maintaining debtor ageing reports.
- Preparing customer, supplier and landlord statements.
- Assisting in monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Supporting budgeting and cash flow monitoring.
- Processing statutory deductions including PAYE, VAT, NSSF, SHA and other statutory obligations.
- Assisting in payroll processing and reconciliation.
- Maintaining fixed asset registers.
- Supporting audit preparations and responding to audit queries.
- Maintaining proper filing of financial documents.
- Assisting with procurement documentation and payment verification.
- Supporting project accounting for construction and property developments.
- Reconciling rent collections, service charge collections and property management accounts.
- Supporting financial reporting for exhibitions, conferences and events.
- Preparing management reports and financial dashboards.
- Ensuring compliance with company financial policies and internal controls.
- Undertaking any other finance and administrative duties assigned by management.
Minimum Education
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related business field.
- CPA Kenya Part II minimum. CPA Finalist or fully qualified CPAK will be an added advantage.
- ACCA or equivalent professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
Applicants should demonstrate:
- At least 2–5 years' relevant accounting experience.
- Experience using ERP systems such as ERPNext, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Experience in real estate, property management, construction, security services, facility management, hospitality or event management will be highly desirable.
- Experience handling multiple companies or business units will be an added advantage.
- Experience preparing financial statements and reconciliations.
- Experience dealing with external auditors and statutory compliance.
- Strong debtor management and credit control experience.
