Key Responsibilities for Reliability Asset Management Engineer Jobs in Solwezi As a Senior Engineer specializing in Electrical & Instrumentation, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining the Smelter Asset Management Framework.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting the asset management framework for fixed plant and mobile equipment, ensuring accurate asset registers and hierarchies are maintained in Pronto.
  • Monitoring asset health indicators to identify trends and deterioration requiring maintenance intervention.
  • Managing reliability maintenance strategies to prevent mechanical failures and optimize asset performance.
  • Conducting periodic condition assessments and risk evaluations, and assisting in mitigation planning.
  • Leading reliability and performance monitoring of HV/LV systems, MCCs, transformers, PLC, DCS, SCADA, and instrumentation through KPI tracking and data analysis.
  • Driving Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilizing digital platforms such as Power BI, CMMS, PI System, and RtDUET to develop dashboards, reports, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assisting in maintenance optimization, spare parts management, and shutdown planning through detailed asset performance analysis.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) compliance in all asset management activities.
  • Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Certification in Asset Management or Reliability Engineering (e.g., ARP, CMRP) is advantageous.
  • Certification in Condition Monitoring Techniques and advanced training in Power BI or analytics is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset management within the mining or mineral processing industry; smelter experience is a strong advantage.
  • Proven senior-level experience in electrical engineering, control and instrumentation, or PLC specialization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in asset performance monitoring, reliability improvement, and RCA reviews.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems such as PRONTO or SAP, and strong computer skills including MS Office.
  • Exposure to ISO 55000 Asset Management principles and digital asset management technologies.
