Senior Construction Superintendent Process-Plant – Senior Construction Superintendent Jobs in Kalumbila Barrick Lumwana Mining Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional for the role of Senior Construction Superintendent Process-Plant to join the Lumwana Expansion Project Team in Kalumbila, North West Province, Zambia.

About the Role Reporting directly to the Lead Construction Plant – LEP, you will play a critical role in assisting the leadership of the construction team to ensure the successful delivery of process plant construction projects.

Your focus will be on safety, quality, timely completion, and budget adherence across complex mining infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Assist in leading and coordinating process plant construction activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution aligned with project objectives.

Support planning, scheduling, and execution of infrastructure including crushers, conveyors, grinding circuits, flotation plants, leaching circuits, tailings facilities, reagent plants, and pumping systems. Supervise daily construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, company standards, environmental policies, and mining regulations.

Monitor progress against schedules, identify risks and constraints, and propose mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines. Coordinate multidisciplinary construction efforts involving mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and commissioning teams for seamless integration.

Conduct regular field inspections, quality audits, and walk-downs to verify adherence to project and manufacturer standards. Oversee installation of critical process equipment such as mills, crushers, flotation cells, thickeners, agitators, pumps, tanks, pipelines, and conveyors.

Support contractor management by monitoring performance, productivity, manpower deployment, and compliance with contractual obligations. Promote and maintain a strong Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) culture, ensuring compliance with safety rules, risk assessments, and environmental requirements.

Assist in managing construction risks related to heavy lifts, confined spaces, working at heights, energized systems, and complex interfaces. Candidate Profile and Qualifications Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.

Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 10 years of progressive construction management experience, including at least 7 years of hands-on site experience working with contractors.

At least 5 years in construction management, site supervision, or owner’s/consultant’s representative roles on major projects. Membership of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is required.

Proficiency in construction management software such as Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent. Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with effective teamwork abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
