Tyre Repair Technician

Background

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Tyre Repair Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet tyres through effective inspection, repair, maintenance, and tyre management.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a hot patch tyre repair machine for professional tyre repairs.
• Inspect tyres for punctures, damage, defects, and excessive wear.
• Carry out tyre rotation and tyre movement to maximize tyre lifespan and performance.
• Perform and assist with wheel alignment.
• Conduct regular tyre pressure checks and air pressure top-ups.
• Identify tyres requiring repair, replacement, or repositioning.
• Maintain accurate records of tyre repairs, movements, rotations, and replacements.
• Ensure tyre tools and equipment are properly maintained and safely operated.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and workshop standards.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience as a Tyre Repair Technician or in a similar position.
• Proven hands-on experience using a hot patch tyre repair machine.
• Strong knowledge of tyre rotation, tyre movement, and tyre maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of wheel alignment.
• Good knowledge of tyre pressure requirements and air pressure management.
• Ability to assess tyre condition and determine appropriate repair or replacement.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced transport and fleet environment.

Hands-on technical experience is essential.
